12/13/08 An early morning look at some of the windmills close to us. Today we drove up to Whitewater Preserve for a morning of birding and a picnic. This place was once a commercial fish farm. For a fee you could catch fish in one of their ponds and either take it home or take it in to their restraurant and they would cook it for you. The ponds are still there and have some nice big fish in them. The place is clean, has hiking trails, and lots of picnic tables around the grounds.

Here are a couple of pictures from the Whitewater Preserve.

December 6, 2008 We spent the morning birding at the Wild Bird Center in Indio, CA. There were about 12 other birders there also. We saw 35 different species, including these.

Water Heater Maintenance

It's been a year, so I figured it's time to drain the water heater, flush out the gunk and maybe replace the anode. There was no gunk, just a small amount of black scale. The RO water system prevents "hard" water from entering the tank. The anode needed replacement.

Let's see how this Blog thing works...

So...we picked a canned template and this post is mostly to see how it will look.
