NV to OR

We stopped at Williams AZ and spent a day at the Grand Canyon. When we looked for the pictures all we found were videos. We did stop on the way home and watched the Imax presentation on the Grand Canyon and it was very good.

Next stop was Las Vegas TT. It was way too hot this time of year. My nephew and his son came for dinner but I didn’t get any pictures. I am still getting grief from my Mom and Sister over that one. I went to lunch with Brenda a classmate of mine.

We did have a great visit and lunch.

Our next stop was the Miller’s Rest Stop on Hwy 95 west of Tonopah. One of our favorite places for an overnight stay.

They have an area for RV’s to park for the night. 

Next day we stopped in Reno for fuel and on the way out of town we smelled something hot and it turned out to be the disk and rotor on the drivers side. We pulled over and were trying to decide what to do next when the NDOT stopped to see if we needed any help. He was nice to stay with us until it cooled and it seemed everything was working like it should. We drove on up the road to a place he told us about that we could stop and check it again without getting clear out of town. Everything seemed OK so on we trekked up the road to the Wal-Mart in Susanville, CA.

In the pine trees and cool nights at last.

It was a beautiful drive from Susanville to I-5 then scooted into OR. We parked at the Medford Eagles and called Dick & Marla. Went to dinner at the Hometown Buffet and had a great meal and visit.

With a stop in Grants Pass at Henderson’s we finally made it to the Coquille Elks. Dick’s Mom lives in Myrtle Point and we will be spending a week here.

They have done some landscaping since we were here last. I must say it does look fantastic.
